Wanna be thin

I'm a northeastern girl trying to lose weight in 2012 and 2013
I'll be doing atkins until I go down to Florida for the Disney Program in February, then it will be counting calories down there
I'm trying to get the hang of working out-- starting tomorrow
So any tips on committing to working out, please tell me, I'm open to any advice please
